Section 1: A Word from our Site Staff
Welcome to our humble Parthenon. The above information is for your benefit, to understand our various rules and to be aware of automated and manual mechanisms or regulations exist. To gain access to the rest of the boards, please post an introduction or application in the "Introduction and Application" board. It doesn't have to be fancy or complicated. Please be respectful on these forums--that is our one main rule. The rest is elaboration upon it, in the case that it is necessary for site staff to consider action.
Section 2: Definitions:
1) "Post" is defined as any post or message on the forum, private messaging system, or any other means of communication on this web site. 2) "Web Site," "Forum," and "Private Messaging" all refer specifically to www.ahumbleparthenon.com and its systems. 3) "Administrator," or "Admin," refers to web site staff with the rank of administrator. Current administrators are VegnaBlitz, ubergold, Loser223, Miro, and Quoflector. 4) "Staff" refers to any Moderator, Global Moderator, or Admin/Administrator.
Section 3: What you cannot do here:
You agree, through your use of this forum, to: 1) Not misleadingly post anything which you know or believe to be false or inaccurate. 2) Not post anything which is invasive of a person's privacy, defamatory, hateful, taunting, harassing, obscene, overly profane, threatening, or otherwise abusive of another member. 3) Not post any pornographic material, or material which is otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. 4) You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. 5) You agree not to spam (post utterly useless messages) or flood (post multiple or extremely long spam). 6) Advertisements and solicitation may be posted if and only if written approval is given by an administrator of this forum. Please PM VegnaBlitz through the forum system for approval.
Section 4: Staff, Members, and Posts
We do not filter posts or messages before they are published or sent, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented, unless we choose to do so. Posts express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner.
Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify a staff member of this forum. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content at their discretion. This is a manual process, and therefore not immediate. Staff exercises censorship with care and reason, but maintains all rights to determining and taking appropriate action.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the (unlikely but possible) event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.
Section 5: Registration and Tracking
You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. If your username is sufficiently inappropriate or breaks the rules of the site, it may be deleted or you may be emailed. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to accept responsibility for your password and your own account. We also recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft. Your account will be held responsible for actions it takes, whether you are in control of it or not, so it is highly recommended you not share your account login information. Do not give out your password to anyone but an administrator, for confirmation of identity. Administrators will not ask for your password unless you contact them.
After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. Rules on "posts" include anything included in your profile.
Your IP address is recorded with each post, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement. The software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.
Section 6: The Alliance
"The Alliance" is a section on the forum that allows players of specific games to coordinate and communicate with each other. Those who are granted alliance access agree not to 'spy,' or collect information on players to be used against them. As this is an alliance, those with access to the section, "The Alliance," agree not to harm each other's accounts in the games specified. Breach of these two rules will result in expulsion from the alliance, and possibly the site in whole.
